Carry-on Baggage

Traveling with Air Canada reservations allows passengers to bring 1 standard size bag and 1 personal carry-on bag on board. In addition to the personal bag and carry-on bag, passengers can bring their special need or infant care items, coat, small purse inside the flight. The carry-on baggage must not exceed the permitted limit i.e. 21"x15.5"x9" and must be light enough to store in the overhead bin unassisted.

All the items or articles that do not respect the maximum sizes will need to be checked.

Checked Baggage

Air Canada also offers free checked baggage to let passengers cut additional charges on their flight tickets. The free checked baggage may vary by flight, seat class, and destinations. The free checked baggage come with some restrictions. For example, the baggage must not exceed 50lb or 23 kg. And the dimensions of the bag must not exceed 62 inches or 158 cm.

If you think your bag is exceeding the permissible limit, it will be paid and the payment can be made online to avoid the additional waiting at the airport check-in counter.

Delayed or Damaged Baggage

Air Canada ensures your baggage reaches you on time and safely. However, if you can’t locate your checked baggage upon arrival, you can notify the Air Canada representative for immediate help. Passengers will be asked a few questions regarding the flight details and personal information to prepare an incident report. In case of baggage delayed, passengers are provided:

  • Babbage delayed card
  • File reference number

Once the baggage is found by the Air Canada, it is delivered to passengers via the provided information through FedEx.

Note: Flight delay or missing report must be submitted within 21 days from the date of your arrival.
